Bangladesh: Role Model of the World

“Bangladesh is finding solutions for adapting to climate change. The rest of the world will have to do it tomorrow. We are doing it today. They can learn from us.”

I have just relaunched the works for my documentary project “Bangladesh: Role Model for the World”, which I had put on hold due to lack of funding. During my first visit to Bangladesh in February 2019 I made this interview (below) with Saleemul Huq, Director of the the International Center for Climate Change and Development (ICCCD) in Dhaka.

In his newest editorial for the english spoken Bangladeshi newspaper “The Daily Star” he discusses what we also discussed in the interview at that time: Bangladesh as a role model for the world in dealing with climate change.

The title of his article “Climate Change: Turning Bangladesh into the learning capital of the world.” His main message is: Adaption. And the key of this adaption for him is the investment in the people, specially in “girls”.
